Sonam Kapoor is a newcomer to the Indian film industry. She was shot into fame after she signed her first film for a lead role with great Indian director Sanjay Leela Bhansali of Devdas and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam fame. At present she is the most talked about newcomer in the Bollywood.

Sonam was born on June 9, 1985, in Chembur, Maharashtra, India to the famous Hindi film star Anil Kapoor and his ex- model wife Sunita Kapoor. daughter and granddaughter of Director Surinder Kapoor, she is the niece of Boney Kapoor, Sridevi actor, actor Sanjay Kapoor and marvah Sandeep producer producer. Kapoor is the eldest of three children and another brother and sister Rhéa harshvardhan.

She attended Roger Vidya Mandir school in Juhu school and then enrolled at the United World College of South-East Asian, making his international baccalaureate.Fluent English, Hindi and Punjabi and received training in classical Indian dance, Latin.Kapoor also teaches at the University of London is and is categorized as former notables.
